Fun Days

We like to schedule a "fun day" several time each year.   The day is really an all day family picnic combined with events that test drivers skill as well as just to have fun.  Prizes and trophies are usually provided to the "winners" of the events but in reality, everyone is a winner due to the fun we have.

The crowd here is watching the events take place in the area adjacent to the registration and judges booth during a recent fun day. funday1.jpg (13943 bytes)

To make it really interesting, let your spouse drive.  Afterwards, you can calmly deliberate about wether it was driving skills or navigator skills that made you win or lose.

There was a small hill at the end of the timed trail run (no blindfolds).  Some aggressive drivers tried for some air on this hill.  This FJ40 with Dana 60 axles and 38" tires made it look easy.  However, another driver managed to get off line a bit and rolled his Jeep YJ thus giving him an excuse to completely rebuild it like he wanted to start with. philb1.jpg (13398 bytes)
