Brian & Charline Prewitt's Scout

This 1980 IH scout II belongs to Tony Scalf and Laura Lewis. Their Scout has a 345 v8, T-19A wide ratio 4 speed transmission, a Dana 300 transfer case and Dana 44 axles front and rear with a e-z locker in the rear and a gearless locker in the front. Tony and Laura's Scout rides on 35x12.50 ProComp MT's. It is equipped with a converted A/C compressor for onboard air that is used to run air tools and air up tires. Tony selected a Mile Marker 9,000 lb hydraulic winch and is working on a dc motor and pump to run the winch incase the 345 stops running. For safety they use a 10 point roll cage that is tied to the frame in four different places along with the stock seat belts. Future plans include preformed racing seats mounted to the roll cage and two five point harness belts to keep them in place. What a shame that they thought about passing up this scout to buy a jeep.
